Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain Veneers can be used to improve the confidence behind your smile by removing signs of wear and tear, or decay, that may have begun to show on your teeth.

The Veneer procedure is carried out by one of our dentists and involves the bonding of strong, ultra-thin laminates of porcelain to the front exterior of your teeth. As such, they can be used to significantly affect the aesthetic look of your teeth, changing their colour, shape and overall appearance.

The Veneers are produced on a custom-made basis, tailored exactly to each client and their individual requirements. This provides our clients with the opportunity to directly contribute to how they wish their teeth to look following the treatment.

Dental cement is used to bond the veneers to teeth teeth; however, to avoid your teeth becoming too thick following the veneer process, they are filed down and reshaped prior to the bonding procedure. The filing process can be complicated with local anaesthetic, should you require; however, it can also be completed under no sedation.

Despite holding some similarities with that of crowns, veneers do not provide the structural protection that crowns do and are used almost only for aesthetic purposes. Specifically, a crown is typically placed on top of the tooth, encapsulating it in a protective manner, whereas a porcelain veneer is placed only on the front exterior of the tooth.

As with all dental procedures, a series of consultations will take place to ensure that porcelain veneers are the correct procedure for you, prior to the treatment beginning.
